FIVE UN DEBATEABLE REASONS YOU SHOULD INVEST IN SUNSCREEN NOW!

Beauty

What is spf? You ask... Well it's found in a sunscreen for starters..

It's okay, even i didn't know about it until a two or three years ago. It stands for Sun protection factor. More of us just know of it as sunscreen. That thing that fancy people online always talk about and slather on when they are at the beach. Correct. But sunscreen is not just for fancy people online, and it is not restricted to be used to the beach only. It should be used everyday, to the store, to the market, to work, to school, to out in general (lol) it's not just for the beach, it is for everyday, every time, everyone. Not just for white people, for everyone.
So what exactly is sunscreen and what does it do?
Sunscreens are products combining several ingredients that help prevent the sun's ultraviolet (UVA and UVB)  radiation from reaching the skin.

Now, i know from experience that a lot of people (Nigerians do not care much for sunscreen) even i didn't use to care, but we should care especially because our weather is one of the harshest.

Here are 5 ultimately un debatable reasons why you should start to care and go invest in a sunscreen ASAP.

  • Protects skin from UV radiation: I know in primary and secondary school, we were told how good the sun is at giving us our much needed dose of vitamin D. But with the issue of global warming and ozone layer and all those scientific stuffs, we are at higher risks of getting affected by the suns harmful rays. Applying a generous amount of sunscreen before taking that walk in the sun helps to block these harmful rays from penetrating the skin.
  • Prevents sunburn: And i know a fair share of people that suffer from sunburn, whether it's your thousands of naira worth of skin lightening cream that is making you more suspectable to sunburn or your skin is just extra sensitive to the sun, a little dab of sunscreen here and there can save you the trouble.
  • No more blotchiness: Am talking about people like me with acne and blemishes, staying too long in the sun causes acne to get inflamed, and scars to get red and itchy. Slathering on sunscreen before stepping out helps a great deal.
  • Keep the risk of cancer at bare minimum: Yes, been protected from the harmful rays of the sun means been protected from the risk of all sort of skin cancers, be wise.
  • General health of the skin: Proteins like collagen, keratin, and all those fancy protein stuffs that are in our skin for good measures are well preserved and protected from the sun when you use a sunscreen.

Sunscreen is a must-use skincare product. I used Vichy sunscreens for years but sadly I can’t find any in Nigeria and I’m yet to find a good replacement. I’ll try this Yves Rocher version you recommended.
